E.N. Welch & Co., Forestville Conn. miniature plain front "Beehive" shelf clock 30 hour time and strike spring driven movement stamped "E. N. WELCH, FORESTVILLE CONN. U.S.A." in rosewood veneer case with Daniel Pratt & Sons label, c1855.
CONDITION:
case lacquered over original finish some time ago. The original ivory knob is now split and inside of case. The original dial is untouched and has original hands. There is minor touch up to original lower tablet. This is a rare item, even more uncommon than a miniature RIPPLE beehive and we have seen only three examples in the last 25 years. We sold one in November 1, 2000 for $4300, and another in October 1, 2001 for $4000. Ht 15"
